CRTPO votes to pull its support from the controversial I-77 South toll lanes project

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization voted Wednesday night to pull its support for the I-77 South toll lane project.

The controversial project would have expanded toll lanes between the South Carolina state line and the Brookshire Freeway.

Charlotte City Council put this in motion last week when it voted six to five against continuing to support the project. Stay with WCCB for more on this developing story as it becomes available.
