Rowan Co. Sheriff’s Deputy hurt after after fiery crash

ROWAN CO., N.C. – A Rowan County Sheriff’s deputy is recovering after being involved in a fiery crash. We’re told two deputies were responding to an emergency call Tuesday when one of their patrol cars crashed with another vehicle on Highway 152 near Daugherty Road.

The deputy’s vehicle went into a field and caught fire. The second deputy stopped and pulled the injured deputy out of the burning vehicle.

The injured deputy and the passengers in the other vehicle were taken to the hospital. We’re told the injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
