ALBEMARLE, N.C. βΒ One person died and another was taken to the hospital following a head-on collision in Albemarle on Wednesday night, according to the Albemarle Police Department.
Officers responded to US Highway 52 near the Northeast Connector around 11 p.m. Wednesday.Β
Police said a northbound vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, later identified as 34-year-old Tiffany Mauldin, died at the scene. The other driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
