Firefighter hospitalized after accidental house fire in Gastonia

A firefighter was transported to the hospital after battling a house fire in Gastonia on Tuesday.

Crews from the Gastonia Fire Department, New Hope Fire Department, and Union Road Fire Department responded to a home on Kennesaw Drive near Union New Hope Road.

A firefighter was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and was later released, officials said. One house occupant sustained minor burns but refused medical treatment.

The fire was later deemed accidental.
