CONCORD, N.C. – An 18-year-old was arrested Saturday in connection to a double homicide in Concord back in February.
Kamari Porter turned himself in around 1 a.m. on June 27. He is the fifth suspect arrested for a deadly shooting that happened around 11 p.m. on Fairington Drive NW in Concord on Feb. 1.
Two victims, 22-year-old Michael Overstreet and 19-year-old Kemauri Blount, died at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. Two additional victims were transported to a local hospital but were later released.
The other four suspects, 20-year-old Brandon Cortez, 19-year-old William McDaniel, 19-year-old Devin Griffin, and 19-year-old Damani Marina, have all been charged in connection to the shooting and remain in jail without bond.
Each suspect has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle, and discharging a weapon into occupied property inflicting serious bodily injury.
Porter is being held in the Cabarrus County Jail without bond.
