Woman dies, suspect arrested in Georgia after west Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A woman has died days after a shooting in west Charlotte.

It happened at a home on Wabash Avenue near Hovis Road around 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.Β 

When police arrived, they located two victims with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

One of the victims, 27-year-old Marle Fleming, died Tuesday as a result of her injuries sustained in the shooting.

The suspect, 25-year-old Marques Fleming, was arrested Tuesday in Loganville, Georgia. He is awaiting extradition back to Charlotte and into the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office’s custody. No word yet on the charges he will be facing.
