Dog euthanized due to lack of space at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control shelter
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Leaders with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control say the shelter is completely out of kennel space for dogs. Repairs to ACC’s Toomey location are underway to get the shelter up to code, which means they are down more than 30 kennels.
All dogs are currently being housed at the shelter’s Byrum location. We’re told the shelter had to euthanize a dog Tuesday morning to make more space.
They are asking for volunteers to foster pets or provide staycations to free up more room in the shelter. Repairs to ACC’s Toomey location are expected to last a few more weeks.
