Air Quality Warning in effect for Charlotte

People with heart / lung disease, older adults and children should limit outdoor activities.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An Air Quality Warning is in effect for Mecklenburg County until 8 PM Wednesday. This is a “Code Orange” day for ground-level ozone. This means the air is unhealthy for some. People with heart / lung disease, older adults and children should limit outdoor activities.

There is wildfire smoke drifting into the Carolinas today so you may notice a haze in the sky. Thankfully for us, most of this is far above our heads so it does not have a big impact on the surface.
