Demolition begins on west Charlotte’s historic Excelsior Club

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Demolition has officially begun on west Charlotte’s historic Excelsior Club on Beatties Ford Road.

Kennedy Properties & Development plans to replace the deteriorating 1944 landmark with an $8.3 million near-replica.

The revived venue is expected to open in 2028, featuring a restaurant, museum space, and local nonprofit community rooms.
