Man who opened fire on drivers on I-485 says he did because he got an upsetting phone call

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man who opened fire at other drivers on I-485 in January will spend 10 years in federal prison. 41-year-old Anil Dabydeen was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers say he opened fire at the South Tryon Street exit, hitting two other drivers.

Dabydeen later told investigators he began shooting after he got a phone call that upset him.
