Bird strike forces flight from Myrtle Beach to Charlotte to turn around

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – An American Airlines flight headed to Charlotte was forced to turn around after the crew reported a bird strike.

A spokesperson for the airline says Flight 1760 returned to Myrtle Beach shortly after departure Monday morning. We’re told 172 passengers were on board and no injuries were reported. The was also no indication of a fire in the engine.

The aircraft landed safely and was taken out of service for a maintenance inspection.
