Police: Buyer who won local storage unit in auction discovers cocaine, meth and fentanyl inside

MINT HILL, N.C. – A local storage unit auction in Mint Hill led to a major drug seizure after a buyer uncovered a massive stash of illegal narcotics.

Last week, Hickory Grove officers responded to a “found property” call from a person who purchased the unit at an auction. Inside, the buyer found what appeared to be packaged drugs.

An investigation led to the seizure of almost 25 pounds of cocaine. Officers also confiscated more than three ounces of methamphetamine and nearly an ounce of suspected fentanyl.
