‘Ring of Fire’ weather pattern sets up across the Carolinas
Flood Watch is in effect through Thursday morning for Ashe and Watauga counties. Rounds of rain could lead to localized flooding.
Forecast:
Tuesday: Very hot. Highs in the mid 90s. Feeling like 100-104 degrees. Scattered showers and storms are possible, but this is a tricky forecast. We could possibly see numerous storms late this evening – a few of these could become severe with damaging winds.
Wednesday: Sunny and hot. Highs in the mid 90s. Feeling close to 105 degrees. Scattered showers.
Thursday: Very hot. Highs in the mid 90s. Another day feeling close to 105 degrees.
Friday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the low to mid 90s. Isolated showers and storms.
Tropics:
There are three areas of interest. Two in the eastern Atlantic. One in the central Atlantic. While we will keep our eyes on these, none are concerning right now. There is a lot of wind shear in the Gulf, Caribbean and Atlantic which tears tropical systems apart. The one worth watching right now is in the far eastern Atlantic. This has a high chance of tropical development, but it’s very far away. We will watch it closely.
