WAXHAW, N.C. – Waxhaw Police say that as of approximately 5:30pm on Tuesday, they suspended the search for the suspect. They say the suspect has not been located. K9 tracking led toward the South Carolina line. The suspect is identified as 45-year-old Kevin Joseph Hatley.
Police say residents are asked to continue practicing basic safety measures: lock doors and windows, including vehicles, and stay aware of your surroundings. If you see this individual, do not approach. Call 911 immediately.
A Waxhaw Police spokesperson says, “We understand this situation may be unsettling, and we appreciate your vigilance and cooperation as our officers continue working to ensure everyone’s safety.”
WAXHAW, N.C. – Waxhaw Police are asking people in the area of the Hillcrest neighborhood near Rehobeth Road and Magnolia Ridge Drive to stay inside, lock their doors and windows and/or avoid the area.
Police are searching for a suspect who they say ran from officers when they tried to serve a narcotics warrant.
The suspect is a white male, 5’7” tall with dreadlocks and wearing a grey sweatshirt.
If you see this individual, do not approach. Call 911 immediately.
