Severe storms through the evening
Damaging winds and heavy downpours
Tonight we will keep scattered storms in play through the evening. A few storms could bring brief heavy rain, gusty winds and frequent lightning. Some showers or storms may hang around into the pre-dawn hours Wednesday before things quiet down.
By Wednesday, the pattern begins to turn noticeably hotter. Afternoon temperatures will surge into the mid-90s under a mix of sunshine and clouds. Rain chances will be fairly limited, so most of the day should stay dry.
That drier trend continues through Friday, and temperatures will climb even higher. Highs could push into the upper 90s, while the combination of heat and humidity sends feels-like temperatures toward 105 degrees at times.
The hottest part of the day will be during the afternoon and early evening, when the humidity will make it feel considerably warmer than the actual thermometer reading. If you’re spending time outside, take the heat seriously, especially during the peak afternoon hours.
