Intense heat continues with a few storms in Mountains
Lingering heat until this weekend
The heat isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Tuesday and Wednesday will both bring plenty of sunshine with afternoon temperatures climbing to the mid 90s. We may get a tiny break from the humidity Tuesday as winds turn more northerly, but it will still feel plenty hot outside. Overnight lows will stay in the mid-70s, so even after the sun goes down, there won’t be much relief. With dewpoints a bit lower Tuesday and Wednesday I don’t believe NWS will reissue Heat Alerts across the region.
Then Thursday, we turn the heat up another notch. Mostly sunny skies will send temperatures soaring towards the upper 90s, making for another day where that summer heat really makes itself known. By Thursday evening, the pattern begins to loosen its grip, and we’ll bring in a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms, late evening into the overnight. Stay tuned!
