Suspect in east Charlotte murder tracked down, arrested in Texas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A suspect is in custody in connection with the death of a man killed in a grocery store parking lot in east Charlotte.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say Luis Zaragoza was tracked down and arrested near Houston in Baytown, Texas on Friday. He is charged with the murder of Huber Velazquez. Velazquez was found dead on August 20 in the Compare Foods parking lot on Milton Road.

Zaragoza is currently waiting to be extradited here to North Carolina to face a judge.
