Warm and muggy evening with storm moving in Friday

The start of Friday will remain quiet with bright sunny skies and feels like temps near 102°. By Friday evening, though, the atmosphere starts to get a little more unsettled. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, with the best opportunity after the evening commute. These storms will be the first sign of the bigger weather change headed our way this weekend.

Saturday will be a big transition day. High pressure that’s kept us mostly dry all week finally breaks down, allowing more moisture and storm chances to move in. We’ll start the day with partly sunny skies, but once we get into the afternoon, things will turn active. At this point severe weather remains low with garden variety storms expected.

Daytime highs will a bit cooler in the mid to upper 80s. Additional storms do linger into Saturday evening.

Sunday will stay mostly dry with a pop-up storm in the afternoon, but it shouldn’t be disruptive to the Panther’s Home Opener or tailgating. The issue feels like temperatures will be in the triple digits making it hard to enjoy.
