Monroe FD firefighters rescue puppy who fell eight feet into storm water drain

MONROE, N.C. – Members of the Monroe Fire Department are being praised for a very unique, four-legged rescue. Crew members from Ladder 2 responded to reports of a small puppy that had fallen eight feet down into a deep storm water drain over the weekend.

Officials say it took some serious out-of-the-box thinking, and plenty of enthusiastic encouragement from firefighters to finally coax the frightened pup to safety.

The pup was pulled out unharmed and is now doing just fine.
