Charlotte man sentenced to prison for child sexual abuse materials including infant torture

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A Charlotte man has been sentenced to eight and a half years in federal prison. Prosecutors say 27-year-old Anthony Acevedo’s laptop and cell phones contained more than 400 images and almost 1,000 videos of child sex abuse materials, including images of infant torture.

U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson said, “Acevedo had over 65 hours of videos depicting the abuse of children, from sadistic and masochistic conduct to the physical and sexual torture of an infant. That material should not even exist. Those who spread it will find their way to federal prison.”

The judge said it was some of the worst materials they’d ever seen. When Acevedo gets out of prison, he’ll be on probation for the rest of his life, pay $62,000 in restitution and must register as a sex offender.
