Wegmans prepares for next week’s grand opening in Ballantyne
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The highly anticipated arrival of Wegmans in Ballantyne is less than a week away, and excitement is peaking for local shoppers.
The supermarket is putting the finishing touches on its new location ahead of its official opening next Wednesday. Store managers say teams are currently preparing for a mad dash delivery schedule to fully stock the fresh produce and grocery departments.
Beyond standard groceries, the store is expected to serve as a community hub, offering restaurant-grade hot foods, sushi, and subs. Management also emphasized that the store is launching daily partnerships with local hunger-relief organizations, including Nourish Up and Feeding Charlotte, to donate unsold food to nearby families in need.
Wegmans store manager Patrick McGuinness says, “What makes us a great place is being, being family owned and operated. It’s always a focus of people. That, you’re gonna walk around and you’re gonna see the building and understand what we do, but really it’s the people inside that make Wegmans what it is.”
The Ballantyne Wegmans will employ approximately 450 people.
