Woman Charged With Robbing Hickory Convenience Store

HICKORY, N.C. — Hickory Police say they arrested a woman for robbing a convenience store.  Officers were called to Cubbard Express on 16th Street NE on August 14th in reference to a robbery.

Police say Taya McCathern entered the store, pulled out a gun and demanded money.  Police say after the robbery, McCathern forced the clerk to drive her from the business in the clerk’s vehicle.  After a period of time, McCathern reportedly released the clerk unharmed.

McCathern has been charged with common law robbery, larceny of motor vehicle and second degree kidnapping.  She was given a $150,000 bond.
