Cooler weekend with sunny skies
Temperatures rise next week
Tonight: A Chilly Fall Evening
Once the sun goes down tonight, you’ll definitely notice that fall chill settling back into the Carolinas. Skies will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, allowing temperatures to drop through the evening. If you’re heading out to a high school football game or grabbing dinner outdoors, you’ll want to bring along a jacket. Lows will fall into the upper 40s.
Saturday and Sunday: Fall Weather at Its Finest!
We’re looking at a great combination of sunshine, a few passing clouds, and afternoon temperatures topping out in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
High pressure will remain in control, keeping that refreshing fall air locked in across the region. We’re not expecting any rain, so whether you’re visiting a pumpkin patch, checking out the changing leaves in the mountains, or spending the afternoon watching football, the weather will be great!
Visiting the North Carolina mountains? Those early mornings are going to be downright cold! Temperatures could drop low enough for some patchy frost Saturday and Sunday mornings, especially in the colder mountain valleys. Layers will be your friend.
Next Week: A Little Warm-Up Is Coming
Don’t get too comfortable with the cooler temperatures because we’re already watching another change heading our way.
As we move into next week, the cooler air that’s been hanging around the Carolinas will gradually lose its grip. Afternoon temperatures will begin climbing again, eventually pushing a little above where we typically should be for late October.
The sunshine isn’t going anywhere either! Our stretch of dry weather looks to continue through at least the middle of next week, with very little in the way of rain.
ENJOY!
