House Cleaning Service Employee Charged With Cashing Stolen Check

LINCOLNTON, N.C. — Authorities say a former employee of a house cleaning service in Fort Mill, South Carolina has been charged with cashing a stolen check in Lincoln County.

Tiffany Bottenfield, 28, of Gastonia, was reportedly cleaning a home in Fort Mill when she stole five blank personal checks, according to a news release.  Bottenfield allegedly confessed to stealing the checks and depositing one of the checks at a bank in Lincoln County.

The four other checks were deposited at banks in Gaston County, according to a news release.  Investigators say $1,225 was deposited in total.

Detectives say Bottenfield currently operates her own cleaning service called Heavenly Household Cleaners.  She has been charged with obtaining property by false pretenses, uttering a forged instrument and forgery by endorsement.
