MOUNT PLEASANT, NC — A Cabarrus County father is facing multiple charges after deputies say he assaulted and stabbed several family members shortly after midnight Tuesday.
Christopher Daniel Martin, 47, was arrested around 12:30am after deputies were called to a home on County Line Road in reference to an assault and stabbing.
According to reports, Martin’s wife had several bodily injuries, including multiple stab wounds, Martin’s adult son was found with several lacerations on his head and Martin’s mother-in-law had severe facial wounds.
All victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Martin is charged with one count each of Attempted First-Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Assault on a Handicapped Person, and Malicious Conduct by a Prisoner.
He is being held without bond. The investigation is ongoing.
