York County Woman Charged With Poisoning, Killing Husband
CLOVER, SC — A woman was arrested Friday after authorities say she poisoned her husband’s food, which resulted in his death.
Lana Clayton is charged with Murder and Unlawful Malicious Tampering of Food. Her husband, Stephen Clayton, died at their Island Forks Road home on July 21 as a result of poisoning, according to officials.
The crime is believed to have taken place between July 19 and 21. Investigators say toxicology reports on Stephen Clayton’s body showed poisonous levels of Tetrahydrozoline.
Lana Clayton reportedly admitted to poisoning her husband after her arrest Friday. The investigation is ongoing.
