Two Suspects Charged In Shooting, Armed Robbery Near Uptown
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD has charged two suspects in connection to an armed robbery and shooting that occurred just outside of Uptown.
Around 1:08am on September 10th, police say Roy Hedman and Tyere Grant took a man’s vehicle at gunpoint on Charlottetown Avenue and shot him during an altercation. The victim was reportedly taken to CMC with serious injuries, but his current condition is unknown.
Police say Grant, 24, was arrested later that morning and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Larceny of a Motor Vehicle.
On September 12th, police say Hedman, 22, was arrested on Orange Street and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and two counts of Larceny of Property.
According to jail records, Hedman has been arrested 25 times since October 2015 while Grant has been arrested 13 times since December 2015.
