Man Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Woman In East Charlotte Arrested In Lancaster County
The Latest:
CMPD says 24-year-old Lajames Ross has been arrested in Lancaster, SC in connection to an east Charlotte sexual assault that happened in September.
Ross is currently awaiting extradition back to North Carolina, but officials have not said how long that will take.
He is charged with two counts of First Degree Kidnapping, First Degree Sex Offense, and First Degree Rape.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police need your help identifying a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman in east Charlotte.
Investigators say the victim, a 22-year-old woman, was at a gas station on Lawyers Road early Friday morning when she was approached by an unknown black male. The suspect reportedly got into the victim’s vehicle and forced her to drive off.
Police say he then brandished a weapon and sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9″ and was last seen wearing blue basketball shorts with a lighter blue stripe on the side.
The suspect got out of a vehicle that was being driven by an unknown black female, according to a news release. The vehicle appears to be a white Chevrolet HHR with whited out rear windows and black rims.
