Rising Spotlight: Baubles & Bowties Gala
dancers against cancer
CHARLOTTE, NC — The Baubles & Bowties Gala is an annual fundraising event benefiting Dancers Against Cancer. It is now in its third year.
The founder of the event and owner of Miller Street Dance Academy Michelle Soutier and her husband, Harold, joined the Rising crew to talk about the event and how you can help.
This year’s Gala will be held on October 20, 2018 at the Ballantyne Hotel.
Attendees will enjoy an elegant evening that includes dinner, drinks, entertainment and a silent auction with 100% of the proceeds going to individuals directly impacted by cancer.
The Baubles and Bowties Gala was originated by Michelle Rogers, a National Ambassador for Dancers Against Cancer. Rogers is the owner of Miller Street Dance Academy – a dance studio founded in Charlotte 25 years ago and a breast cancer survivor.
The ‘I’m a Dancer Against Cancer’ campaign was founded in 2012 in response to the loss of a young dancer from cancer. Since then, it has become a beacon of hope in communities across the country. In 2014, Dancers Against Cancer became an official 501(C)3 to continue to provide financial assistance to individuals impacted by cancer.
To date, the organization has raised over $1 million dollars in donations that directly benefit those in need.
