Search Warrant Leads To Large Drug Bust

UNION COUNTY, NC–The Union County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home in the Fairview area early Thursday morning.

Once the residence was secured, detectives reportedly seized more than $30,000 in cash, two handguns and 1839 pills, believed to be a Fentanyl blend.

In addition, detectives seized over 22 grams of marijuana.

Shannon Wayne Adkins, age 45, was charged with two counts of Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Maintaining and Dwelling, Possession of Marijuana and Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled
Substance.

Cynthia Jean Ritch, age 46, was charged with Trafficking in Opium or Heroin, Maintaining a Dwelling, Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance and Possession of Marijuana.
