NASCAR Fitness Challenge with Xfinity Series Driver Ryan Reed
Powered by Lilly Diabetes
CHARLOTTE, NC — As you may be aware, NASCAR makes its annual fall stop at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, Sept. 28-30, when the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series holds its second playoff race and first ever road course during our postseason.
For the second year, Lilly Diabetes will be hosting a stationary bike-riding competition to highlight the talented individuals within NASCAR and showcase wellness in action through the NASCAR Fitness Challenge Powered by Lilly Diabetes. On Sept. 26, outside the NASCAR Hall of Fame, four teams of six NASCAR crew and team employees will participate in a friendly 30-minute cycling challenge. The winning team will receive a charitable donation of $20,000 from Lilly Diabetes toward the charity of their choice.
NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and Lilly Diabetes-sponsored driver Ryan Reed stops by Rising to talk more about the event.
For Reed, this is no stunt. The NASCAR driver has type 1 diabetes and must manage it daily as he competes in one of the most competitive motorsports series in the world.
