WAXHAW, NC — Union County deputies have arrested a man they say was sending inappropriate videos and photos to several teenage girls via Snapchat.
Investigators say Gavin Head, 50, was arrested Tuesday night on three counts of 2nd Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
An investigation into Head began when a parent reported him hanging around a group of girls last Friday night at the football game between Parkwood and Cuthbertson high schools. One of the girls reportedly claimed Head was trying to communicate with another girl in the group via Snapchat.
Head denied having an account when approached by deputies, and reportedly left the game when they began questioning others.
After further investigation, detectives say they discovered Head was using multiple Snapchat accounts to communicate with teens and had allegedly sent inappropriate videos and photos. Detectives say Head also reportedly solicited inappropriate material from at least one teen.
Investigators are still examining Head’s electronic devices, which were seized following his arrest.
