Wilson’s World: Observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Charlotte Radiology

Charlotte Radiology and Levine Cancer Institute partner up with Project PINK to bring cancer screening to the community.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Wilson wants to do his part to get information out on the importance of screening and early detection for breast cancer.  This morning he was joined by members of Charlotte Radiology, Project PINK and the Levine Cancer Institute to help him.

One in 8 women is affected by breast cancer.  And for a lot of these women early detection and proper screening could have helped.  But due to lack of insurance and access to screenings, this is not always possible.  But with help from Levine Cancer Institute Project PINK and Charlotte Radiology women who need mammograms are now able to obtain them.

Charlotte Radiology brings their large pink mobile breast center, which is equipped with the latest in screening technology out into communities where women have limited access to screening.

Wilson also presented his latest ‘Moment of Good’ award this morning to Moby Moore who has been a volunteer with Levine Cancer Institute Project PINK for quite a few years.  Moby turned his award over to Charlotte Radiology to continue the support of Project PINK and their mobile breast center.

Donations are continually needed to support Charlotte Radiology’s mobile breast center and Project PINK which is fully funded by the Charlotte community.  Learn more about Levine Cancer Institute Project PINK and donate at their website atriumhealthfoundation.org/projectpink/.
