2 Teens, 2 Juveniles Arrested After Leading Police On Chase In Stolen Vehicle

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD says four suspects were arrested Friday afternoon following a chase involving a stolen vehicle.

CMPD says the vehicle was stolen in Huntersville and triggered a license plate reader around 2:22pm on Independence Boulevard. Police say the vehicle sped off when officers tried to stop them.

CMPD’s helicopter unit followed the vehicle for several miles throughout the Charlotte area until the suspects jumped out of the vehicle near the intersection of Twin Drive and Wondering Oak Lane. The suspects tried to escape on foot but were quickly apprehended.

The vehicle, according to police, was left in drive when the suspects jumped out. It continued down Twin Drive and came to rest down an embankment after crashing into a home’s fence on Voeltz Drive.

Thomas Lindsay, 17, is charged with Felony Flee to Elude, Felony Hit and Run, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Resist/Obstruct/Delay.

Deron Early, 16, is charged with Resist/Obstruct/Delay.

Police say the two other suspects are juveniles and will not be identified. They are each charged with Resist/Obstruct/Delay.
