Wilson’s World: STEAM Day at Fort Mill High School
FORT MILL, S.C. – Wilson was at Fort Mill High School where he was excited about the landing of a helicopter on the school grounds as part of their STEAM Day at the school.
The STEAM program at Fort Mill is not just a one day program, but is a culture for the school. Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math make up the STEAM culture. But today was a “STEAM driven” day and an opportunity for businesses, companies, vendors, and groups in STEAM fields to connect and talk with Fort Mill High students. The program and the day were created to give students a look at what careers they can go into after they graduate high school and obtain skills that they will need for their future.
WCCB Charlotte is just one of the businesses participating today. Another business is Schaeffler Company USA, a company makes automotive and industrial parts. They are sponsoring a Betabox which shows technology included 3-D printing and autonomous cars letting kids know how their business connects with the 21st century. A medevac helicopter also landed at the school to be part of the day.
