Registered, Lincoln County Sex Offender Charged With Child Sexual Assault

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office have charged a 24-year-old man after they say he sexually assaulted a family member at his home on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Three days later, deputies arrested Andre Bracey who is facing one felony count of statutory rape of a 13, 14 or 15-year-old victim by a defendant at least six years older.

On Sunday, Nov. 25, deputies were notified of the incident that involved a 15-year-old female who is said to have been related to Bracey.

The man was taken before a Lincoln County magistrate and placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

Bracey had been released from the North Carolina prison system on Oct. 9 of this year after completing a 4-year sentence for taking indecent liberties with a minor in 2014. He was registered in Lincoln County as a sex offender on Oct. 15.
