Operation Christmas Child Preparing More Than 2 Million Gifts In Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — More than two million gifts are being prepared in Charlotte to send around the world.
Since 1993, Samaritan’s Purse has delivered more than 157 million shoe boxes in over 160 countries.
More than 30,000 volunteers in Charlotte are filling shoe boxes with school supplies, hygiene items, and toys for children in need.
One volunteer is giving back after she received a shoe box gift as a child.
“One day that year I received a beautiful and colorful operation shoe box gift, the first gift I’ve ever received,” says Volunteer Dania Yadago. “I am honored to come full circle now to be giving shoe boxes to other children.”
Charlotte is one of six processing centers around the country for Operation Christmas Child.
