CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  A new Reuters study indicates that mammograms aren’t as helpful as once thought. Dr. Tony is telling us the other options to detect breast cancer.

Mammograms are usually recommended to get one every one to two years starting at age 50.

The radiation used in mammograms causes a concern for people.

Dr. Tony Hyser recommends talking to your doctor and taking fish oil and Vitamin D to reduce the risks of cancer.

There are also two tests you can get done to detect breast cancer.

The estrogen profile looks at how your bow utilizes estrogen. The test is best to do when you are younger.

Breast Thermography checks the vascular changes in your breasts and doesn’t use radiation.
