Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Schools has revised the make-up day information that was previously announced on Tuesday, December 11th, 2018.
CMS Superintendent Clayton Wilcox has waived the proposed make-up day for school closures on December 10th, 2018.
According to CMS, Butler High School will not have a make-up day on January 22nd, 2019, as previously announced.
CMS says a new date and more details will be released soon, and that the new make-up day for Butler High School will be used to “lift up the strength of the Butler community,” as students, families, staff and supporters learn together through a shared campus teach-in and other special events.
January 22nd, 2019 is still the make-up day for schools closed due to the impact of winter weather.

February 18, 2019 will serve as a make-up day for all CMS schools, students and staff for the closure on October 10, 2018, due to impacts of Hurricane Michael.
March 29, 2019 will serve as a make-up day for all CMS schools, students and staff for the closure on October 11, 2018, also due to impacts of Hurricane Michael.

CHARLOTTE, NC — CMS Superintendent Clayton Wilcox announced the schedule for make-up days in 2019 following the 2018-2019 approved calendar. Use of make-up days has been designated as follows:
January 22, 2019 will be the make-up day for Butler High School and ONLY those schools that were closed on December 11, 2018, due to impacts of winter weather.

March 29, 2019 will serve as a make-up day for all CMS schools, students and staff for the closure on October 11, 2018, also due to impacts of Hurricane Michael.
CMS schools were also closed for three days in September due to the impacts of Hurricane Florence. On September 19th however, the school district announced those days would be waived under the district’s policy which gives Superintendent Wilcox the authority to “waive up to four instructional days each year in the event schools are closed to students because of severe weather or other emergency conditions.”
