Statesville Man Facing Additional Charges After Missing 14-Year-Old Rowan County Girl Found Safe

28-year-old Jake Kelly faces more charges related to the disappearance of 14-year-old Lauren Haynes.
Police have charged Kelly with first degree kidnapping and five counts of disseminating obscene material to a minor.
The bond for Kelly was increased another $150,000. Now- he is currently being held under a $250,000 secured bond and his court date is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 27th.
Haynes went missing last week but has since been found safe.

Lauren Haynes, the 14-year-old girl who went missing early Thursday morning, has been found safe.
Haynes and and 28-year-old suspect Jake Kelly were taken into custody in Charlotte Friday night.
They were transported to Rowan County to continue the investigation.
Jake Kelly will be placed in the Rowan County Detention Center after charges filed.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 28-year-old Jake Robert Kelly in connection with missing 14-year-old Lauren Haynes, who left her home in China Grove around 3 a.m. Thursday.
Jake Kelly is a Statesville resident and law enforcement officials believe Kelly and Haynes traveled to Statesville, and other locations in Iredell County, together from China Grove.
Kelly is believed to be driving a Black 1996 Honda Civic (BEV-4715) and is possibly still in the Statesville.

CHINA GROVE, NC — Rowan County deputies are searching for a 14-year-old girl who went missing overnight.
Deputies say Lauren Haynes’ parents discovered she was missing from their home around 3am Thursday. Lauren also failed to report to class at South Rowan High School, where deputies say she is a student.
