Illegal Immigrants Charged With Drug Trafficking In Iredell County

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Two illegal immigrants have been arrested following an investigation into drug trafficking in Southern Iredell County.

Detectives began investigating after receiving information regarding drug activity at a residence located at 215 Rustic Road in Mooresville.

On December 11th, 2018, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence where they discovered 638 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $159,500; 1,538 grams of hydroponic marijuana, with a street value of $30,760; and approximately 5.4 grams of powder cocaine with a street value of $1,350.00.  Numerous items used for drug packaging and other paraphernalia were found inside the residence including digital scales, and plastic baggies.

The suspects Omar Carrillo and Hugo Carrillo are charged with Felony Trafficking by Possession of Methamphetamine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession of Cocaine, and Felony Maintaining a Dwelling to Sell Controlled Substance.

Upon further investigation and verification, detectives determined the suspects were are not citizens of the United States of America and are from Mexico.

Omar and Hugo Carrillo each received $250,000 bonds and are being held on immigration detainers at the Cabarrus County Detention Center.
