Get Ready To ‘Strip It To Give It’ This Saturday In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC — On Saturday, January 5th, hundreds of Charlotte runners will hit the streets of South End to participate in a charity race benefiting the Queen City’s homeless community.

Runners participating in Strip It To Give It will strip off a layer of clothing after each mile ran that will then be washed, dried and distributed to our neighbors in need. According to Strip It To Give It’s website, roughly 1,500 homeless people can be found in one night on Charlotte’s streets.

Participants can choose from an 8K or 5K course, which will both start at 11am. A fun mile course will also be available, and will take place at 12:30pm. Registration for all events will begin at 9:30am at the Triple C Brewing Company located at 2900 Griffith Street.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit RunningWorks and the Jimmy CORE Foundation. These local organizations work to help provide food, clothing, and opportunity to the homeless populations across the Charlotte area.
