Rocky River HS Students Face Charges After Allegedly Breaking Into Mint Hill Home
MINT HILL, NC — Three Rock River High School students are facing charges in connection to a home invasion that occurred early Tuesday morning.
Isaac Nepomucenu-Gutierrez, 16, and Guillermo Licon, 18, both of Charlotte, have been charged in connection to the crime that happened on Truelight Church Road around 9:55am. Police say a juvenile petition is also being sought for a 15-year-old suspect involved in the crime.
Police say one of the suspects was arrested after responding officers found them trying to escape in a nearby field, and two more were taken into custody after returning to Rocky River High School.
The School Resource Officer reportedly spotted them sneaking back onto campus and brought them in for questioning. They were later arrested by Mint Hill Police.
No weapons were found on the suspects, and police say they do not believe the teens were armed at any point.
Investigators say they are still trying to determine whether the students left campus to commit the crime or if they just never went to school.
Nepomucenu-Gutierrez and Licon are each charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny after Breaking and Entering. Police say the juvenile will be charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Resisting an Officer.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call the Mint Hill Police Department at 704-545-1085.
