HICKORY, NC — Hickory Police say one suspect is in custody and another committed suicide following an armed robbery Friday night.
The robbery happened around 8:40pm at the CVS Pharmacy on Highway 127 S. Police say a suspect robbed the store at gunpoint and demanded medication before taking off in a dark colored vehicle.
Officers later spotted the suspect vehicle on Zion Church Road, according to police, and were led on a chase that eventually ended on David Baptist Church Road in Kings Mountain. The driver, Rebecca Miller, of Lenoir, was taken into custody and transported back to Hickory.
Meanwhile, officials say a man matching the armed suspect’s description was found walking along Highway 74.
Deputies with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office reportedly tried to make contact with the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Bryan Jensen, of Blowing Rock. Before they could however, officials say Jensen ran into a wooded area and committed suicide.
Miller, 39, has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Resist Delay Obstruct Public Officers and Felony Speed to Elude Arrest.
