GASTONIA, NC — Police are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a train just before noon Friday.
The accident happened around 11:41am at West Airline Avenue and North Trenton Street. Police say a man and woman were walking north on the tracks when a train approached.
The man was hit, police say, but the woman was unharmed.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
