Two Charlotte Men Accused Of Armed Robbery, Drug Trafficking In Mooresville
MOORESVILLE, NC — Police have arrested two suspects accused of robbing a pharmacy early Sunday morning and then crashing their vehicle while running from police.
The robbery happened just after 5am at the Walgreens on River Highway. Police say Thomas Starnes, 41, and Mark Brumley, 34, both of Charlotte, entered the store with handguns and demanded pills from the pharmacist.
While leaving the scene, an off-duty police officer reportedly saw the suspects’ vehicle and attempted to stop them. The two men tried to escape, police say, but crashed the vehicle nearby.
Both men were taken into custody and charged with Armed Robbery, Conspiracy and Drug Trafficking. Brumley is additionally charged with Speeding to Elude Arrest.
