STATESVILLE, N.C. — An Iredell County man has been arrested as the result of an investigation into a breaking and entering that occurred in 2018.
Jakob Treston, 19, has been arrested and charged with Felony Breaking and Entering a Building, Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering, and Felony Larceny of a Firearm.
Authorities say Parsons stole an Amazon Firestick and two firearms from a home on Ashbrook Road near Statesville on November 29th, 2018.
According to investigators, the victim noticed the Firestick was being used to access his Netflix account when programs he had not viewed were displayed.
Netflix and Amazon provided investigators with the internet protocol address used to access and view the programs. Detectives sent a search warrant to the Internet Service Provider to identify the victim.

Results of the search warrant confirmed the Amazon Firestick was used at Parsons’ residence in Western Iredell County.
Parsons was arrested on January 28th, 2019, and given a $5,000 secure bond.
