French Town Fines Owners For Barking Dogs

A town in France will begin fining owners of dogs who bark too much. The cost? About $77. Pet owners can now be punished for their dog’s prolonged and repeated barking that, “disturbs the rest and relaxation” of the town.

The mayor suggests people use anti-barking collars or keep their dogs inside.

He says this new rule is a last resort after dozens of people signed a petition complaining about one specific woman with several large dogs.
