NHL PLAYOFFS-SCHEDULE

A Boston-Montreal Game 7

UNDATED (AP) — A game seven is always exciting and tonight hockey fans get to enjoy one as the Boston Bruins entertain Montreal. The winner advances to the NHL’s Eastern Conference final against the Rangers. Montreal forced the deciding game with a 4-0 victory Monday night on its home ice.

In case you missed it last night, New York advanced to the conference final, completing a comeback against Pittsburgh. The Rangers beat the Pens in Pittsburgh last night 2-1 to win the final three games of the seven-game series.

 

In Los Angeles this evening the Ducks can close out the Kings with a win. Anaheim took a 3-2 series lead with its third straight win of the series on Monday night. Should the Kings break their losing streak and win tonight, the seventh game will be played Friday evening in Anaheim.

The winner of this series gets to play Chicago in the Western Conference final. The Blackhawks advanced when they eliminated the Wild last night.

 

NBA PLAYOFFS-SCHEDULE

Spurs and Heat look to advance

UNDATED (AP) — The teams that played for the NBA title last June can each advance to the next round of the playoffs with a win tonight. Miami, which beat San Antonio in the finals last year, is playing host to Brooklyn in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal. The Heat lead the series 3-1 after LeBron James scored 49 points in Miami’s Game 4 win. A sixth game will take place Friday in New York if the Nets win tonight.

The Spurs can advance to the Western Conference final with a win over the Blazers. San Antonio, which is the home team, leads the series 3-1 after Portland’s 103-92 win in Game 4. A sixth game would be in Portland Friday night. 

MLB-SCHEDULE

Busy matinee schedule

UNDATED (AP) — As you might guess since this is a Wednesday, there are several games being played this afternoon in baseball. In Baltimore a pair of four-game winners are going at it as the Orioles send Wei-Yin (way-in) Chen to the mound against Justin Verlander for the Tigers. Each starts the day with a mark of 4-2.

Madison Bumgarner of the Giants is also a four-game winner and this afternoon he looks to up his mark to 5-3 with a win at home over Atlanta. Unbeaten Garrett Richards is going for his fourth win of the season for the Angels as they face the Phillies this afternoon. Richards is 3-0 with a 2.80 earned run average. Andre Rienzo of the White Sox is also 3-0 and he is on the mound today against the Athletics in Oakland.

The rest of the day schedule has Colorado at Kansas City, Seattle at home to the Rays and Washington at Arizona.

 

This evening’s games include the Blue Jays at home to the Indians, the Yankees, with Masahiro Tanaka going for his sixth win against no defeats, at Citi Field against the Mets, Minnesota hosting the Red Sox, Texas at Houston, the Padres playing in Cincinnati, the Brewers hosting the Pirates, the Cubs in St. Louis and the Marlins in L.A. to play the Dodgers.
