CHARLOTTE, NC — A suspects has been charged, according to CMPD, in relation to Thursday evening’s heavy police presence at the Metropolitan Shopping Center in Midtown.
Police say the suspect was seen traveling in a stolen vehicle and took off from officers when they tried to conduct a traffic stop. CMPD says the officers did not pursue, but the Aviation Unit followed the suspects until they were seen pulling into a parking deck near the intersection of South Kings Drive and Metropolitan Avenue.
James Massey has been charged in connection to this incident. According to the Mecklenburg County Jails website, Massey has eight prior arrests for various crimes.
